Our Distance Education Courses provide students the knowledge to apply key Environmental Management Best Practices into a facility's management systems for environmental performance improvement, consistent with ISO 14001:2004.
The course content is has been chosen to allow companies to improve their environmental performance, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and to minimize their impact on the environment through the application of the "Prevention of Pollution Hierarchy".
Blended Learning
Blended Learning is undertaken in three stages:
One-day Contact Workshop that introduces the student to the course tasks and defines how to apply the knowledge for application on-the-job. Materials include: Comprehensive Student Manual; Interactive CD's that describe the Best Practices; Certification Requirements.
Three Months use of Interactive CD for on-the-job learning / application, with access to CII staff to clarify requirements or reference best practice application with a Project to document the application of one Best Practice within a facility's Environmental Management System.
Refresher Workshop to review progress made, clarify questions and provide answers to common problems and evaluate the student's knowledge of the subjects learnt.
Total training content covers 120 hours of effort.
Best Practices
International Best Practices are presented for application within an environmental management system at a facility, consistent with ISO 14001:2004. The four subjects covered include:
Waste Minimization.
Hazardous Waste Management.
Chemicals Management.
Transportation of Hazardous Substances.
Each Topic covers
Indian Regulatory Requirements.
Best Practices for applying the 'Prevention of Pollution Hierarchy'.
Operational methods for environmental performance improvement .
Application within existing Environmental Management Systems.
All materials complement the ISO 14001:2004 offered by CII EMD and the International Diploma on Preventive Environmental Management offered by NetPEM (Nagpur).
Certification
All Best Practices have been benchmarked to International Standards by the Industrial Education Cooperative, Sarnia, Canada at www.iec.org.ca. Student certification requires better than 70% cumulative marks from: Contact and refresher course attendance; Completion of the Project Assignment, Examination taken on conclusion of the course.
Registration Fee
Rs. 8,000/- (Rupees Eight Thousand only) per participant shall be charged for the course. Registration will be confirmed on the receipt of application form and the registration fee. Payment can be done through Cheque/ demand draft in favor of Confederation of Indian Industry, Payable at New Delhi.
