Sensitising Workshops

Awareness Workshop on Environment Management System (EMS)as per ISO-14001 (1-2 days) Our Distance Education Courses provide students the knowledge to apply key The primary objective of this programme is to impart awareness on the principles and practices of an EMS management system for conformance with internationally accepted norms on EMS.

This awareness cum training programme has been designed specifically taking into account the EMS scenario in India.

Occupational Health and Safety Management (1-2 day)

The primary objective of Occupational Health and Safety Management systems awareness cum training course is to instruct the participants in the principles and practices specific to auditing for conformance with the national and internationally accepted norms and regulations related to OH&S requirements.

The training course provides the basic understanding of occupational health and safety issues at the work place and the OHS issues to be audited in an Occupational Health and Safety Management System. The system followed for training would be OHSAS 18001:1999.

 
Special emphasis will be given to the following areas
 
Occupational Health and Safety issues.
Initial Occupational Health & Safety Review.
Setting of Occupational Health & Safety objectives and targets.
Training, Awareness on OHS-MS requirements etc.
Emergency preparedness and response plans.
   
Awareness Workshop on SA 8000 - (One day)
 
This programme provides an opportunity to the Indian Industry to interact with certifying agencies, certified companies and other stakeholders like NGOs and Government Institutions to ascertain the need of Corporate Social Responsibility.

SA 8000 is a global standard for improving working conditions around the world. The first auditable international standard on workers rights, it is based on a number of existing international human rights standards, including the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. SA 8000 provides transparent, measurable, verifiable standards for certifying the performance of companies in the areas of child labour, forced labour, health and safety, freedom of association, discrimination, disciplinary practices, working hours, compensation and management.

The faculty for the workshop includes speakers from certification agencies, key government institutions and companies certified to SA 8000.
