Conference on Rural, Urban and Industrial Water Management
Aqua India 2003 was a concurrent show with CII's flagship event-15th International Engineering & Technology Fair (IETF) 2003. As a part of Aqua India 2003, a Conference on Rural, Urban and Industrial Water Management was organized on February 6&7, 2003 at Hotel Taj Mahal, Mansingh Road, New Delhi. The Conference was supported by the Ministry of Water Resources. |

The Conference was organized in the backdrop that the water requirements in various sectors are outstripping the availability, thereby posing a serious threat to the sustainability of these economic sectors. With 4% of world's water resources and 18% of global population, there are predictions that India will be severely water-stressed by the year 2020. Many parts of the country have already started witnessing severe water crisis and droughts. |

The objective of the Conference was to discuss the rural, urban and industrial water management issues. A number of eminent experts from different sectors were invited to outline strategies for effective management and conservation of water in our country. |

There was an active participation from the industry sector and the technology suppliers and solution providers who made technical presentations highlighting the important water issues and the available solutions. |
