Workshop on Sharing International Experience of Implementing ISO 14001 'Celebrating 10 Years of ISO 14001'

Thursday, 12 October 2006: ITC Hotel Maurya Sheraton & Towers, New Delhi

Indian Industry and business is poised at a juncture where it is anticipating exponential growth opportunities. The country's GDP has been consistently growing at an average rate of around 8% and promises double digit growth in times to come. In this context, it is absolutely imperative for the Indian Industry to ensure management of environmental challenges alongside the high rate of growth.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) came up with the standard ISO 14001 on Environment Management System in the year 1996. In the last 10 years more than 120,000 organization worldwide and over 4000 organizations in India have adopted this standard.

ISO this year is celebrating a decade of implementation of ISO 14001 standard and on this occasion it is organising a workshop alongside its Technical Committee meeting (TC-207) / SC - I, on Thursday, 12th October 2006 at New Delhi, India.

The workshop would provide a wonderful opportunity for Indian companies to interact with well-known International experts and share their own experiences. The workshop is jointly organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Quality Council of India (QCI).
