The overall objective of the project "Environmental Management at State level", is to strengthen environmental management in the states and territories of India by improving operational systems and institutional frameworks for developing and implementing appropriate environmental management policies and mechanisms. The Asian Development Bank is the funding agency while the Ministry of Environment and Forests is the focal body co-ordinating the project. There are several components to the project, while Component C was allocated to Resource Futures International, Canada. Confederation of Indian Industry and Vaughn International were other partnering agencies.
